Jan 12th Letter

January 12, 2023

Dear Neighbor,

Greetings neighbor.  I am writing to you about the formation of the new Buckhorn Road Association. I recently moved into 1420 Buckhorn and after talking with a few neighbors realized the need for a new road association to facilitate the upkeep of the road. It has been two years since the last maintenance was done and it is in great need of repair (grading, new gravel, etc). The road condition has deteriorated rapidly since the storms began in late 2022. Service vehicles will not be able to traverse the road as the condition of the road continues to decline, creating a safety and security hazard for all residents on the road.

This first letter and the new website (buckhornroad.org) will help collect the correct names and contact information from property owners on the road, and gather commitments to help pay for the repairs and the upkeep. Please return the attached form with any corrections for future communications by February 15.

I have been in contact with Bud Garmen as well as others for bids to do the work: very early estimates for the full work to bring the road back into shape are around $6-8k. Hence, also write on the form if you will be able to help contribute to the cost within the next three months. If all 15 neighbors contribute equally, then it should be around $500-$700 each. Of course, this will be communicated more clearly once I receive all corrections and initial commitments are returned. Please bookmark the web address above for future updates. Attached please find a rough map of the neighbors on Buckhorn Rd.

Hopefully, we can get enough commitments from owners on the road so that we can start finalizing the bids and the work can be completed in the next three months.

Please feel free to email or call me if you have concerns or questions. Note: I'm doing this out of necessity. I'm funding all mailing and website costs myself currently, as well as meeting with potential providers who can work on the road. I'm not looking to recover my own costs, but your response will be greatly appreciated by February 15

Thank you!
